Sniff is a small, immature, and very excitable creature who lives in the Moomin household. He is characterised by his intense enthusiasm for anything shiny or valuable, driven by a constant (though usually unsuccessful) desire to get rich. Sniff is Moomintroll's friend, but often needs encouragement and reassurance, as he is easily frightened and tends to get left behind on adventures. Despite his self-centered tendencies and occasional greed, he is lovable and an integral member of the Moomin family, always adding a dash of hilarious melodrama to Moominvalley life.
