Snufkin is a beloved Moomin character known for his freedom, quiet wisdom, and philosophical approach to life. He is a nomadic traveler who carries all his possessions in a backpack and prefers to live a simple, unencumbered life, often sleeping in his tent by the river. Snufkin values independence above all else and views excessive rules or possessions as suffocating. He is a talented musician, recognisable by his old green hat and the harmonica he constantly plays. Although he always leaves Moominvalley in the autumn to travel south and returns in the spring, he maintains a close, nurturing friendship with Moomintroll.
